New Learning

I would like my students to blog when they have work or learning that they would like to share.  I want it to be an independent activity that they carry out when they choose to.
I would like to see a variety of tools utilized in my classroom program so that the work that they are sharing contains information that is interesting for them and those that view their mahi.  I still need development to build my knowledge of tools and how to apply them in the classroom.

Nāku noa,

PWD Patsy Wynyard

What did I learn today?

It appears our students love creating!  I could get the students to video themselves explaining how to do something - like what we saw happening in the Maths class.  The students in the video I saw appeared to be engrossed in the activity and will, in my opinion, remember the learning activity.

Ideas for topics I could use with my students

How to write a paragraph
How to access information on the class site
How to write an introduction for their essay

sharing

I have learnt from Ruth how students can support and learn from one another by sharing through blogging.
Wall posters are an old fashioned but good way for students to share, e.g. the art work around the school.

Student reflections on current events

I think I will try having my students write reflections about interesting articles that they find in the newspaper. This will help students build their critical thinking skills and connect them with the wider world and community.

What I Have Learned Today

Blogging with 9M in PE classes with PWD should be more regular.  The two of us will endeavour to make greater use of blogging.

There is an opportunity to use blogging with 11 PHE class as they undertake their final AS for the year where they will have an opportunity to demonstrate leadership & management skills in teaching others in a sport environment.   Opportunities for FB / FF from peers can be enhanced.

Hi Kerry

Hi
Good Evening
Had a lovely day. I learnt heaps of things today

Thank You
Annie

Blogging

I will get my students to make a movie teaching someone how to learn a concept - teaching others is a great way to check your understanding.
